Unsanctioned, underground racing that requires you know somebody to even get in? I don't know what I'm getting into but sign me up immediately. Part 1 of the saga.

With a rare three Golden Tickets on the line, the plan was to see where the day would take me. Why not send it? We'd find out if this would be the time my legs could carry me to glory, or if they would suffer from a proper Arizona desert beating.

I love a little creativity mixed into the monotony of training. Coach Ryan and I came up with a way to mix it up and push some perceived limits. A few friends that knew about this in advance thought I was either off my rocker and worried I'd blow up the body, or stoked to see how high the ceiling would be. This was the peak session in prep for the GGTC100k. A little intentionally delayed to post, but check it out for a deep dive into the mindset of it all.

Spartan Race puts on running races? They sure do. It's been almost 2 years since I ran a 100k and it was about time I try to figure out the distance a little more. I had a different race tactic in mind and this seemed like a low-downside, big-upside opportunity to give it a go!

We brought a living room out to Dutchman Flat for the day to see if people would like it. Here's a collection of stories that tells the tale of what it's like to experience working at an aid station just beyond the midway point of a 100 miler.

When the stars align to bring old friends together, I'd adventure for many hours through downed trees, darkness, sandy creek beds and exhaustion to make it work.

Had a fantastic chat with Clint and Jack from Beer On The Run Podcast that covered a lot of ground from ESS to trail ultra races to crowd surfing Des Linden.

Take a listen!

Eric Lindstrom reached out to Kristen about this crazy project we had just completed and had some questions for us. He put together a wonderful piece about the story of our winter!

Early season dirt and running with a group are what I've been dreaming of for months. What I didn't plan on was this much internal pressure and hearing footsteps all the while.

My first race back in over a year. The longest racing drought I've had since starting running. Do I still have what it takes? Would prerace nerves get the best of me? I'll tell ya-- it felt great to run hard.

What started as an optimistic shot at having my best day around an iconic volcano turned into one wild blunder.

It was a new distance at the SOB race series in Ashland and I wasn't going to let this beautiful course go to waste.

This is a long one, but it's about as detailed as it gets.

Finally a shot to text myself against a deep field of some truly impressive competition! I've been building for this in hopes of something spectacular on a big stage.

Technical, rocky, and right in my backyard.

Just the way I like it.

They say experience pays off. 3rd time is the charm? Well, I'm still learning. But getting better! Plus maple syrup and fall foliage.

This day didn't turn out the way I expected.

But my goodness, was it wonderful.
